Why We’re Taking Our Family to Spain with Boundless

You know my motto: why not? Give me a reason to hop on a flight to Europe and I’m there! No, but for real, I’ve been manifesting a BOUNDLESS experience since we did our last 3 month stint in Europe in 2023.
As a lover of travel and experiences, I’ve made it my mission to continue to explore the world with our 4 yo daughter Luna since she was born. If you’re new to the EDPfam (Everyday Pursuits family), a quick family travel refresh:
in 2022 we spent 3 months traveling France, Italy and Portugal
in 2023 we spent 3 months traveling France, Italy, Spain, Spain, and Portugal
Back then Luna was too young for school and one of my besties traveled with us to help (and hang!) and it was such a gift in so many ways. I do remember thinking in 2022, wouldn’t it be cool if there was some kind of study-abroad school program that we could do once Luna was old enough?
It was early 2023 when I found out about BOUNDLESS: a program created for families with children aged 1.5 to 14 yo who want to explore the world while providing their children with a high-quality, globally connected education. Think education meets co-working space meets community… abroad!
It’s genius, no? It was all very serendipitous honestly. A friend had told me about the program right before we embarked on our 2023 adventure and then, while we were at a park in Annecy, France we bumped into a family who shared they were headed to Portugal to join the next BOUNDLESS cohort. What were the chances?
So long story short, this is something my brain has subconsciously wanted to do for years and when BOUNDLESS announced Estepona (south of Spain) as their new location last fall, I told Andy we were doing it! Even more serendipitous is that I took Luna to Estepona for a day trip in 2023 and I remember saying to myself “wouldn’t it be so cool to live here for a little?” It’s such a beautiful, quaint town on the water. If there was anyone meant to live by the beach, it’s me. 3 months of living by the beach in one of my favorite countries, while my husband and I can work from a co-working space and our daughter can get a globally inspired education? SIGN ME UP!
Why now? Outside of all the stars aligning with the location and BOUNDLESS concept, we decided to pull Luna out of her current preschool for this cohort (April - June) because she’ll be starting a new school (Kindergarten) in August. The timing just felt right. Currently my only apprehension is that she is JUST on the cusp of reading and I am slightly nervous we may regress in that area. But I am also really excited to see how BOUNDLESS handles the whole transition and what amazing experiences she’ll/we’ll walk away with.
